Goal: My goal is for people to realize the fact that gay marriage shouldn't be against the law like it is in many states.

Blog #1: I choose the topic Gay marriage because I feel that people have bad opinions and have stuck on the old traditional ways of thinking that only opposite sex people have the right to be married. Even though in some states it’s illegal it’s not stopping people from being with who they want to be with and having a relationship with people with same sex. I feel really strongly on the fact that you can’t help who you love and why should the government have the right to tell you who you can and can’t be with? In ways I feel that gay marriage should fall in the same category as sexism, racism and ageism people discriminate against your own right to love who you want. Some people who are gay tend not to get the jobs they want because of the fact that they are gay and that shouldn’t be right. I feel that being gay is not a choice it’s who you are and it’s a big public policy issue in many states of government so I want to show my public policy class that being gay is not wrong and that you shouldn’t judge based on who the person likes but who they are, and that Gay marriage should be legal in all states.

Same-Sex Marriage, Civil Unions, and Domestic Partnerships

In some states such as New York, Connecticut, Iowa, New Hampshire, Vermont and Washington, D.C. gay marriage has just now been the verdict of being legal in those states in 2012. In states such as North Caroline in Early may have succeeded to vote in large numbers against legalizing gay marriage partnerships and civil unions, becoming the 30th state in the country and it is the last state in the South to be against gay marriage in the state constitution. North Carolina is a religious state and some Republican lawmakers have struggled to persuade it as an amendment. Also in the state as Colorado lawmakers reached an impasse over a bill to allow civil unions. Many different states have different views on if they want same-sex marriage to be legal or not

I believe It doesn't matter who you love either your lesbian, gay straight or bisexual. You should have the right to be able to share your love in a way that you like it’s kind of like freedom of speech if we have right to say anything what we want how come we can’t have the right to love whomever we want? People with the same-sex marriage should be able to have everything any marriages have like the family beneficial care, housing benefits. It is not right that in the same-sex marriage even if you states wants you to you can’t file for joint federal income tax returns with your same-sex partner. And also other things like Social Security death benefits and COBRA continuation insurance coverage, Can’t be applied in a same-sex marriage which I believe is wrong I think a marriage is a marriage no matter what you shouldn’t have to be cut of from things such as the ones listed above based on who you marry.

Jay-Z, Gay Marriage: Obama's New Stance Is 'The Right Thing To Do'
Blog #4:
Even celebrities such as jay-z have believed that same-sex marriage should be legal. He believes that same-sex marriage has not been spread as an issue nationwide. Jay z states “What people do in their own homes is their business and you can choose to love whoever you love. That’s their business. It's no different than discriminating against blacks. It’s discrimination plain and simple.” That quote is exactly how I feel about same-sex marriage should be it’s no one’s business but your own, on your sexual interest. Its discrimination and he feels that this might take down some votes of African American republicans who are against same-sex marriage.

Arguments against same-sex marriage
Some of the arguments that people have against same-sex marriages is People believe that same-sex marriage can destroy institution of marriage. They also believe that if same sex couples would be able to adopt which people are not okay with. They also believe that our country can’t afford to pay for the social security for same-sex marriages and others argue that only 4% of the population identifies themselves as gay or lesbian and out of that 4% only 25 get married which won’t mess up the cost of social security. People are afraid of making same-sex marriage legal too because they are scared it will encourage other people to become gay or lesbian. It would also have an encouragement to other nations to look up the legalization of same sex marriage and follow that pattern.
